The portal
Subscription
What BoilerBuddy costs, how the trial works, how you pay and cancel, and what happens if you don't pay.
BoilerBuddy costs €3.95 per device per month, VAT included. The first 30 days are free.
Everything about your subscription is under Subscription in the menu.
What you pay
- You pay per device. If you add or remove a device halfway through the month, it is charged per day.
- You keep the price your subscription started with.
- While your subscription runs, you pay for at least one device. If you no longer use BoilerBuddy, cancel.
The trial
Your trial starts when you create your account and lasts 30 days. Everything works during that time. The Subscription page shows until when.
Nothing continues automatically after the trial. A week before it ends and on the last day you get an email, and the portal shows it too. Start your subscription in time, or your devices will be locked. Each account gets one trial.
Paying
Go to Subscription and choose how you want to pay:
- Direct debit: the first time with iDEAL, then every month from your bank account.
- Credit card: every month from your credit card.
Choose Start. You pay the first month straight away through Mollie, even if your trial is still running. After that it is collected every month. If the payment didn't go through, start again.
Managing and cancelling
Manage subscription has your payment method, payments and billing details. To cancel, choose Subscription there. Everything keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. After that your devices are locked.
If you don't pay
If a payment fails, you get an email, followed by two reminders. The Subscription page shows the payment with a button to pay it after all. Everything keeps working for another 14 days after the period you paid for. If it still hasn't gone through by then, or your trial has ended without a subscription, your devices are locked:
- Your BoilerBuddy Alpo keeps measuring and your readings are kept.
- Dashboard, charts, savings and alerts are closed. They say "Subscription expired", with a Go to subscription button.
- No alerts go out, not even in the portal.
Your list of devices, a device's page and the installation details stay open. You can still hand over or delete a device. Pay again and everything is back, including the readings from the locked period.
If the payment still hasn't gone through three weeks after the failed attempt, we stop your subscription, so nothing more is collected for devices that are locked. To carry on after that, start a new subscription: your readings are still there.
When your installer pays
Whoever owns the device pays.
- If the device belongs to your installer, they pay. You can see everything and pay nothing. If their subscription runs out, the portal asks you to have them renew it.
- If they hand the device over to you, it is yours and you pay. They can keep managing it as installer. See Sharing and locations.
- If someone else shares a device with you, they pay. Your own trial or subscription plays no part in that.
