For installers
Customer access
Give a customer access to their devices, even if they don't have an account yet. What they see, alerts, and stopping access.
Invite your customer and they can see for themselves how their solar water heater is doing: charts, savings and alerts. They can't change anything.
Inviting customers and stopping their access is done by an owner or admin of the installer.
What the customer sees
Someone with access sees all of that customer's devices, including devices added later and devices you handed over to the customer. They see the dashboard, the charts, the savings and the alerts, and for each device the location and the place in the building. They don't see your Notes.
Access covers the whole customer, with all its branches; access per branch isn't available yet. Several people can have access to the same customer, for example the owner and the caretaker.
Inviting
- Go to Customers and open the customer.
- On the People tab, enter the Customer email address.
- Choose Invite.
The customer gets an email (in Dutch for now) with a link that works once and is valid for 7 days. On the customer page you can Withdraw the invitation. If you invite the same address again, only the new link works.
What the customer does
The link opens your invitation. The customer chooses Log in and accept, or Create account and accept if they don't have an account yet. The devices then show up in their Devices list.
The invitation only works for the address you sent it to. Someone the link is forwarded to can't use it. If the customer is logged in with another account, the page tells them which address the invitation is for and lets them log out. If someone wants access with another address, invite that address.
If the link has expired or was already used, send a new one.
Alerts for the customer
People with access get the alerts of the customer's devices in the bell, and by email if Alerts by email is on in their profile. They can't turn off just this customer's alerts: they can turn off the emails, or give up their access.
If the subscription of a device's owner is no longer running, no alerts go out (see Billing and subscription).
Stopping access
- You: on the People tab, choose Stop access next to someone. A device they own themselves after a handover, or one shared with them separately, they keep.
- The customer: chooses Stop following on one of the devices. That ends their access to all of that customer's devices.
Deleting a customer
Delete customer is at the bottom of the Details tab on the customer page. The customer and its locations are removed, and the people who had access no longer see the devices. Devices that are still yours stay with you and on your subscription. Devices already handed over stay the customer's, and you keep access.
Want the customer to manage and pay for their devices themselves? Read Handing over to the customer.
