Getting started
Circuit and installation details
Tell BoilerBuddy what your installation looks like, with your controller's circuit and the details for your savings.
After pairing, you tell us what your installation looks like. Then we know what each reading means and can estimate your savings.
The circuit
Choose the circuit your controller is set to. A circuit is the layout of your installation: which temperature probes and pumps there are, and where they sit. Choose the right one and the names match your readings, and so do your alerts and savings.
Choosing
After adding a device you land on Choose your circuit. Later you find it on your device's Settings, with the Change button next to Circuit.
- Check that BoilerBuddy Alpo is chosen as the Device type.
- Choose the Circuit. You see which sensors belong to it, and often a diagram. Compare it with your installation.
- Choose Save.
Not sure which circuit you have? Look in your controller's settings or manual, or ask your installer. If it is not in the list, contact us.
The circuit can be chosen by the owner, or by an installer the device is shared with.
The sensor names in the portal are in Dutch for now, for example "Temperatuur zonnepaneel" (solar panel temperature).
Changing it later
Only do this if it is really wrong. Your earlier readings belong to the old circuit. After a switch you no longer see them in your charts and savings. They are not gone: switch back to the old circuit and you see them again.
Installation details
These details make your savings estimate better. You find them on your device's Installation details tab. Leave a field empty and we use the default.
| Detail | Default | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Tank volume | 200 l | how much heat is in your tank |
| Boiler efficiency | 90% | how much gas you save |
| Gas price | €1.40 per m³ | how much money you save |
If your installation has two tanks, you enter the volume of each. Do you also see collector area, glycol percentage or pool volume? We don't use those yet.
Everyone who can see the device can view the installation details. Only the owner or the installer can change them.
