BoilerBuddy

For installers

Billing and subscription

What BoilerBuddy costs an installer, the trial, paying, and what happens when a payment doesn't come in.

You pay €3.95 per device per month, VAT included, for the devices your company owns. After approval you first get a free trial.

Starting and managing the subscription is done by an owner or admin; they also get the emails about payments. A technician only sees the status on the Subscription page.

Who pays

Whoever owns a device pays for it.

  • Devices you add while working in the installer are on your subscription.
  • Devices you handed over to a customer, or that a customer shares with you, are on the customer's subscription (see Handing over to the customer).

What you pay

The monthly amount is the number of devices times the price: with 12 devices, 12 × €3.95 = €47.40. If a device comes or goes mid-month, you only pay for the days it was yours. Without any devices you pay the price of one device for as long as the subscription runs.

The Subscription page shows your price, the number of devices and the amount per month. A running subscription keeps the price it started with.

Trial

Your trial starts when we approve your application and lasts 30 days by default. Everything works as normal. The Subscription page shows until when. After that the subscription has to be running.

Paying

  1. Go to Subscription and pick a payment method under Start subscription: Direct debit (the first time with iDEAL, then from your account) or Credit card.
  2. Choose Start and complete the first payment with Mollie, our payment provider.

You pay the first month right away; after that it's collected every month. Under Manage subscription you change your payment method, see your payments and cancel.

Not paid: locked

Your devices stay visible until the end of your trial, or until 14 days after your last paid day if that is later. During those 14 days we retry a failed payment. After that the devices are locked:

  • Dashboard, Savings, charts and alerts show Subscription expired. An owner or admin sees a Go to subscription button; technicians and customers with access are told to ask the owner.
  • No alerts go out, neither in the bell nor by email.

The BoilerBuddy Alpo keeps measuring, and the readings are kept. You can still delete and hand over devices. Once the subscription runs again, you see everything, including the locked period.

Passing the cost on to your customers

BoilerBuddy doesn't bill your customers. If you pay for a customer's devices, it's up to you whether and how you pass that on. If you want the customer to pay directly, hand the devices over.

Listing in the installer directory

A listing in the installer directory is paid separately, per year: see Listing in the installer directory.
