Dashboard and charts

What you see on the dashboard, from the values right now to charts over any period, and how to read it.

The dashboard shows what your solar water heater is doing right now, and how it did over any period you choose.

At the top

You see your device's name, its circuit and whether your BoilerBuddy Alpo is Online or Offline. If you have more devices, switch with Other device. If you work in an installer company, open a device's dashboard from Devices (see All your devices at a glance).

Offline means the Alpo has not reported for 15 minutes. Your readings are not lost: it sends them once the connection is back, and your chart fills itself in.

When an alert is active, a bar at the top says so. View alerts shows the details.

Now

You see the latest value of each sensor: temperatures in °C, a pump as its speed in percent or Off, a three-way valve as Position A or Position B. If it says "no recent readings", the latest reading is more than 15 minutes old.

The sensor names come from your circuit and are in Dutch for now. The main ones:

Sensor What it is
Collector (zonnepaneel) The solar panel on your roof. In strong sun with a full tank it can go well above 100 °C: your installation is built for that.
Tank top (bovenzijde vat) The top of the tank, where the hottest water is.
Tank bottom (onderzijde vat) The bottom of the tank.
Pump (pomp) Carries the heat from the collector to the tank.
Three-way valve (3-wegklep) Sends the water one way or the other.

On a sunny day you see the collector warm up in the morning. Once it is warmer than the bottom of the tank, the controller switches the pump on and your tank heats up. In the evening the collector cools down and the pump stops.

In this period

Choose a period: 6 h, 24 h, 7 d, 30 d, 1 y or All. Earlier and Later move you through time; Now brings you back to today.

Below it are five insights:

  • Pump running time: how long the pump ran and how often it started.
  • Collector max.: the highest collector temperature, and when.
  • Tank warmed up: how much your tank warmed up on the last day.
  • Heat in the tank: how much heat is in your tank now. If it says "default value", enter your tank volume in the installation details.
  • Solar yield: what the sun gave you. See Savings.

Charts

Choose Combined for all temperatures in one chart, with a separate chart for the pump and any valve. Click a sensor to hide or show it. Choose Per sensor for a small chart per sensor, with its minimum and maximum.

Over longer periods you see averages: the line is the average, the band around it the minimum and maximum.

How far back you can look

You can look back for years. We keep the per-minute readings for 30 days. After that we keep averages: the further back, the coarser. Daily averages are kept with no end date.

All times are in Dutch time (Central European Time).
